Advanced Funeral Planning
Advance Funeral Planning is listing the details and desires of a funeral. This may be a difficult task, but many people see the value in advanced funeral planning, and they are arranging their funerals now rather than later. Reduce stress for grieving loved ones, gain peace of mind knowing things are taken care of and happening just as you wanted. A preneed plan is a thoughtful gift for your family at one of the most crucial times of their lives. When there is no advance planning, your loved ones must make decisions during a time of sadness, grief, fear, and possibly at a time of illness.

Visitation/Viewing
The viewing is often combined with the visitation before the funeral, which allows loved ones to say goodbye in an intimate setting and pay respect to the family. This is typically a timeframe that allows family and friends to share their condolences in a more relaxed setting. Viewing prior to a cremation is common as it allows loved ones a chance to say their goodbyes.
Funeral Service
The Funeral Service is the formal ceremony led by a funeral director and religious leader at a scheduled time. The Funeral can take place in the chapel, graveside, or your place of worship. It includes speeches, stories, tributes about the person's life or religious readings and customs. This is followed by the burial or cremation.
Memorial Service
Typically offered for Cremations and is the same as a Funeral Service, but the remains are not present.
Committal Service
The Committal Service takes place at the burial site and allows family and friends a last goodbye as the burial begins. Poems, hymns, and stories are shared where the loved one is laid to rest. Similarly, the Committal Service honors the person while their cremains (ashes) are placed in their final resting place.
Repast/Reception
A Repast or Reception is a social gathering after the funeral where family and friends gather to connect, share support and remember their loved one. Food is typically served, and some consider this event a celebration of life.
Direct Cremation
This cremation takes place without a formal service or family in attendance. The deceased is removed from the place of death and taken directly to the crematory. The process is the same as any other cremation, but without a ceremony. After cremation, the cremains (ashes) are placed in an urn and returned to the family.
